THQ disappears and his assets are divided between Sega, Koch Media, Crytek, Take 2, Ubisoft

Homefront, South Park, Company of Heroes and Metro have new owners.


The bulk of the assets of THQ have already found a buyer after end of the auction that was held behind closed doors yesterday.

A letter from Jason Rubin (President) and Brian Farrell (CEO) to its employees, has made official THQ's disappearance and the division of their assets, which have gone to five different companies.

- Sega is done with Relic Entertainment, Warhammer 40,000 managers and Company of Heroes.

- Koch Media / Deep Silver acquires Volition (Saints Row) and the Metro franchise.

- Crytek Purchase the license of  Homefront.

- Take 2 gets the license of Evolve, a cooperative action title developed by Turtle Rock Studios (Left 4 Dead)

- Ubisoft takes THQ Montreal , where working with Patrice Desilets (Assassin's Creed) and the South Park license.

All these purchases are almost closed, pending the Bankruptcy Court of the United States accepts the agreement, which is expected throughout the week.

Some assets, including distribution rights and Vigil Games (Darksiders), have not yet found a buyer, but still looking for a buyer.

Workers of the studies that have been acquired by other companies would retain their jobs if the new owners they saw fit. The remaining employees unrelated studies sold, lost his job.

The American editor has been fired from his employees in a letter that has come to light: "Although the company will cease to exist, we are encouraged that most of our studies and games continue with a new owner.
