Super Street Fighter IV 3D edition Review

Since announcing that Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (SSFIV 3DE) would be a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS, we wonder how many would suffer to be transferred to a portable console. Will it serve this game to demonstrate the power of the new Nintendo handheld console or will better show its shortcomings?

I sincerely believe that one of the most difficult genres to carry a handheld is to fight, in particular the kind of game controls and graphics, so many question that Capcom got a decent translation of Super Street Fighter IV the 3DS. Now I can say there is nothing to fear!

The graphic level of the game is quite good and although the characters do not look like in the home console versions, Capcom did a good job of recreating the animations of all. However, not everything in the title graphic is so good, in this portable version no movement on stage, so forget about spectators celebrating the beatings of the fighters.

The greatest difficulty of a fighting game is to get the handheld system  that is well controlled, and although the problem is still present in the title, the creators had a good idea to help improve the game experience. If you know Super Street Fighter and you can do some combos, you will not run into problems in this version.

In SSFIV 3DE can assign four functions to the 3DS touchscreen. PRO mode, you can assign any stroke or combination of strokes, and strokes can program LITE mode or special powers, and believe me when I say it's difficult to Ultra powers in this console (from the motion with the pad, to having to press three buttons), so it is likely to assign complex moves to the bottom screen.

The game modes are enough, let's start Arcade, where you play each character's story, in Versus you fight against CPU or another player online Match you can fight players around the world in Challenge will fight to complete specific challenges each character, and you can practice your combos Training.

Besides these there are a couple ways to use special features of the 3DS, the first is Figure Collection, which lets you use the points you've earned in battle to get action figures you can share with others or use for StreetPass battles.

The other is 3D Versus, a way that serves to accentuate the 3D effect of the title. The camera in these battles seem like it's on the shoulder of your character, a good visual element, but it is uncomfortable to play because it is more difficult to measure the distance to your opponent, a big problem when you play with a fighter throws no powers.

The good about the game:
Presence of all the characters of the original title, with two alternate costumes. The 3D mode is to show off. Good choices for local and online multiplayer.

The bad:
Scenarios without movement. The battle of miniature figures is simple.

Veredict:

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a great launch title for the Nintendo 3DS and a worthy representative of the kind of fights on the handheld, and although the controls are a little awkward, the touch screen helps to enhance the experience. The game fulfills its purpose well and I can say that is best suited to carry in your pocket.

8/10
